A newspaper article that reminds me of my childhood

As some of you could have seen this newspaper article dated 14th November 2005 from Today, a Singapore newspaper. This article was shown to me by my mother just last week. As some people might have came across this article. It says how this guy actually work his way to obtain his Masters degree although he failed during primary 2 causing him to go on the 8-year extended programme. But there is a paragraph that actually interest me was that after a check up at a hospital, the doctors found out that it could be due to him being forced to write with his right hand by his grandmother even though he was left-handed.
As some of you might know, I use left hand all the time except writing. This is because when I was a kid, it was heard that left-handers' writing will not be as nice and neat as that of right-handers, therefore I was forced to write using right hand. This was the hardest and sadest moment of my childhood. I quite agree with what the doctors in this article says because whether a person is left or right-handed depends on whether the right(left-handers) or the left(right-handers) side of the brain develops faster.
After reading this article, I couldn't help but think why was I being forced to write using my right-hand although my route of education was not as bad as this guy. Because this has to do with the proper development of the brain of the child. Anyway, there is no point looking back but to move on with life right?
